Currently, a major role of Nanostart Asia Pacific is the management of Nanostart Singapore Early-Stage Venture Fund I Pte Ltd. This fund was established in 2009 in partnership with the National Research Foundation (NRF), an agency of the office of the Prime Minister of Singapore, which has committed to invest 10 million SGD in Nanostart Singapore Early Stage Venture Fund I.

As fund manager, Nanostart Asia Pacific is responsible for selecting the companies to be financed by Nanostart Singapore Early-Stage Venture Fund I and managing its investment portfolio. The investment focus lies on young, up-and-coming nanotechnology companies in Singapore which seek to commercialize highly innovative products or processes and whose products are approaching market launch.
